I have dyslexia. Is that being taken into account when my work is marked?
For ALS Marking Guidelines to be applied, you will need to have registered with the Additional Learning Support Team via myHub and shared evidence of an Educational Psychology or full diagnostic report.
The ALS team will organise an Induction Appointment with you to discuss reasonable adjustments. One reasonable adjustment could be the use of “ALS Marking Guidelines”. If this is put in place for you, your faculty will be made aware when your adjustments are generated, but you will also need to write “ALS Marking Guidelines” on the front of your exam paper or in the comments box when you upload your work onto Brightspace.
Your marker will then know that you have ALS and will be following Dyslexia Marking Guidelines.
For more information you can talk to the ALS team.
