FAQ 3162
I am applying for student finance for my foundation year but I am unable to select the correct year (year is not available)

If you are unable to select your Foundation year on your Student Finance England application, it is likely because you have selected a 4 year version of your course with a Foundation year. However, BU automatically enrols new Foundation year students on the five year version of their courses, which includes the Foundation year and a placement.  You may opt out of doing the placement before your placement (fourth) year of study. The funding record can then be amended when applying for final year.

To apply for the correct funding, you will need to log into your SFE account and find the 5 year version of your course.
