FAQ 3002
How do I register at the police station if I'm on a Tier 4 visa?

Students of some nationalities are required to register at the police station after they have enrolled and have received their BRP (Biometric Residence Permit). They must register at the Foreign Nationals Office (FNO) Bournemouth Central Police Station, Madeira Road, Bournemouth. BH1 1QQ.

Police Registration cost: £34

At the current time you need to book an appointment. You can either call 01202 220693 (09:00-16:00 Monday - Wednesday) or you can email fnro@dorset.pnn.police.uk to arrange this. You will not be seen without an appointment.

Appointments are available 9:30-12:00hrs Monday - Wednesday.

You will need to take the following documents with you. These documents are not kept by the police but copies will be taken:

  • Passport
  • BRP
  • 2 photos
  • Proof of address, and
  • CAS statement

You will be asked the following questions; if you are single, married, been to the UK before, who's paying for your studies, mobile number and email details, and if you are registered with the police elsewhere. Students who are already registered will just be updated

If the FNO is busy you may need to come back and collect the Registration Document.

Following registration, a red stamp will be put on the entry clearance page of your passport with your police registration certificate number.
