ALS How can an Additional Learning Support Tutor support my learning?

For this support, students would need to have DSA (Disabled Student Allowance in place and have had this identified in their Needs Assessment.  BU will also need to be their designated provider.

An ALS Tutor will work with you throughout your course to teach you strategies to compensate for the impact of your condition.

These may include memory anchors, time and task management (and strategies for checking structure for a student with a Specific Learning Differences - SpLD).  They will enable you to become a more independent learner.

ALS Tutoring can be accessed by applying for Disabled Student's Allowance (DSA) Disabled Student’s Allowances (DSA) via Student Finance), you can contact the ALS Team at 01202 965663 or als@bournemouth.ac.uk to discuss how to apply for this fund if you are unsure.
