The duty for making reasonable adjustments under the Equality Act falls on the university.
In some cases, alternative funding sources may be available or the placement provider may be persuaded to fully fund or contribute towards the costs of adjustments. Where students are under a contract of employment with the placement provider, the employer may also have a responsibility to make adjustments.
The fact that the employer has a responsibility does not diminish the University’s responsibility.
